James Edward Howell, 61 of El Dorado, AR slipped away quietly to rest in the arms of the Lord on Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Life Touch hospice in El dorado, AR.  He was born February 1, 1954 to O.D. Howell and Orella Thompson Howell. He was a native of Strong, AR. He loved good food, good company, good music and sitting on the porch.

          While in MCSA he became acquainted with Rev B.E. Artis and through prayer, understanding and encouraging words he confessed his faith in Christ and was baptized by the Chaplin at Life Touch. “A life Had Been Touched.”

          He was preceded in death by both parents, two sisters: Dorthy Lumsey and Lois Childs, a nephew, Jimmy Lumsey.

          He leaves to cherish his memories his wife: Kaye Frances Owens Howell, 2 daughters: Sallie Owens and Retrina Owens of El Dorado, AR; 2 sons: Patrick Owens of Little Rock, AR and Marcus Owens of El Dorado, AR; one brother: Arvell Howell(Minnie) of Rio Vista, Ca; one sister: Ollie Faye Thornton(Robert) Crossett, AR. 7 nieces: Ethel Hawkins, Ethel Williams, Shanequa Billings, Necole Jon es, Rayla Alexander, Vicki Williams, and Verceola Brown.

He has several great and great- great nephews and nieces, lots of cousins and friends. 

Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt Zion Baptist Church in Urbana, AR.  Visitation will be held Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Mt Zion Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR.
