     John W. Johnson 76 was born July 9, 1939 to John and Effie Johnson in Wilmar, AR.  He departed this life November 14, 2015 12:10 p.m. at the University of Arkansas Medical Center, Little Rock, AR.  He was known to some of us as daddy, Goat, Papaw, John, Uncle Buster and Bro. Johnson; but to most he was simply called “Buster”.
  
On August 15, 1961 he was united in marriage to Ms. Vera Mae Brock; who preceded him in death in 2009.  Through this union four children were born.  During this time he was a loving, devoted husband, father, and papa.  His daughter Gail preceded him in death.  He lived his life as a hardworking family man.  He worked for almost 40 years as a supervisor for Potlatch Corporation, Warren, AR.  He was a faithful member and Deacon at the West Central Church of Christ Warren, AR he was always willing to help out in any way he could. 
He later married Evelyn Wilborn on August 14, 2013.  He remained a loving and devoted husband and stepfather until his death.

 

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife Evelyn; Three daughters Meron (Michael) Richardson of Ft. Worth, TX; Erica (Lavell) Ingram of Little Rock, AR and Stacey Thompson of Warren, AR; Two sons John F. Johnson of Kansas City, KS; Dr. Charles (Saundra) Cooper of Winter Garden, FL and one adopted son Terrance (Wanda) Rhodes of Wilmar, AR.  Two step-sons Jeremy (Ashyle) Moore of Hot Springs, AR and William Moore of Ft. Leonard Wood, MO.  Two siblings; Lawrence Johnson of Monticello, AR; and George (Evora) Johnson of Wilmar, AR; Fifteen grandchildren, Eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who loved and cared for him until the very end.
Funeral service will be held Saturday November 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the West Central Church of Christ in Warren, AR. Visitation will be at the church Saturday from 9 until service time.
Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery in Wilmar, AR under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR
