James Allen Goree

       Mr. James Goree 81, departed this life on February 28, 2015 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Ar.  He was born July 7, 1933, at Crossett Camp, Arkansas to the late Robert “Bob” Goree and Nannie Sue Stamps Goree.  He was married to the former Ola Mae Childs for over 56 years and eight children were born to this union.

       He received an education in the Crossett Public School System in Crossett, Arkansas.  He was employed by Georgia Pacific Corporation (Chemical Division) for over 35 years before leaving to go on disability.  He enjoyed repairing things and working outside with his hands until his health failed.

       He was preceded in death by his wife, Ola Mae Goree; two sons, Stanley and Donald Goree, one granddaughter, Evan Goree; his parents, four sisters and two brothers.

       He leaves to cherish his memory:  five daughters, Wanda Goree of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Mae G. Brooks of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Kathleen Johnson, Beverly Goree and Rosemary Goree all of Crossett, Arkansas; one son, Eric Goree of Sacramento, California; one sister, Juanita Perkins; one grand-niece he helped raise, Clarice Grayson Spencer (Andre) of Crossett, Arkansas. Ten grandchildren and two great-grandaughters. A host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

      Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015, at 1:00pm, at the First Baptist Church of Crossett, Ar. Visitation will be held Friday, March 6, 2015, from 11:00 to 7:00 at the funeral home.  Active pallbeares are James Adams, James Cone, Orlando Robinson, Ronnie Parker, Charles Johnson, and Greg Payne..  Burial will follow in the Westview Cemetery in Crossett, Ar. under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, Ar
