Chester Gray Braggs was born in Farmerville, LA on June 30, 1942 to the late Willie Lee and Myrtle Andrews Braggs. He departed this earthly  realm on Wednesday February 24, 2016 at his residence.

Brother Braggs was united in marriage with Ora Dell Gulley in 1964, she preceded him in death after 31 years of marriage. Their union was blessed with three children.  Brother Braggs accepted Christ at an early age thus beginning his Christian stewardship in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.  In 2014 he rededicated his life to Christ and remained a devoted and faithful Christian until his death.

Brother Braggs was a very present figure in his community as a helper, and friend and left a lasting impression on all those he encountered.  In his early years he was a school bus driver and logger before retiring.  What he enjoyed most was fishing and spending time with his family.

Brother Braggs was preceded in death by  his wife, parents, four brothers and four sisters, one special sister-in-law, Annita Dismuke.

He leaves to cherish his memories; Two daughters: Stephanie Braggs Findley, Linniea Singleton. Five sons: Kenneth (Angie) Braggs, Elder Chester (Evelyn) Braggs, Steven Traylor, LaTerance Willis, and Quentin Willis. Four Sisters: Wilma Wright, Floy Dean Page, Alma Matthews, and Olina Young. Five Sister-in-laws: Jessie Mae Braggs, Jeraldine Jones, Jannie Purifoy, Elossie Purifoy, and Tammy Gulley. 7 Brother-in-laws: Bobby (Barbara) Gulley, Curtis Gulley, James (Sha'Wakanee) Gulley, Jerome Gulley, James Dismuke, Dennis and Raymond Singleton. 15 Grandchildren: Alecia (Terrence) Burt, Jakensa Braggs, Jamaya Braggs, Marquee Braggs, Shaquil Braggs, RahjrChessica Braggs, Reshun Braggs, Bryan Rodgers, Shalebra Singleton, Asia Singleton, Maketrion Singleton, Keyanna Singleton, DeKevion Willis, Romada Willis, Detrischa Willis. 9 Great grandchildren: Terrance Burt Jr., Donovan Burt, Ar'Laysia Braggs, Terriana Tucker, Brayden Rodgers, Tristyn Braggs, Marquee Braggs Jr., Alaysia Marie Braggs, Gabriel Arnold, Jarell Arnold, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

 Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Farmerville, LA. Visitation will be Friday, March 4, 2016 from 6 until 7 at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church  and Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 10 until service time at the church . Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR.
