Venita Lashay (Martin) Miles

Venita Lashay Martin-Miles was born in Little Rock, AR, on November 29, 1982, to Janell Martin and Eric Dawson. She departed this life on November 26, 2024, in Bastrop, LA. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Finis, Sr. and Jessie Bea Wimberly-Martin and her paternal grandparents, Joe, Jr and Peggy Daniel-Green. 

After attending Crossett High School, Venita earned a degree from the University of Arkansas Monticello.

Her passion for church and community youth led her to serve as a choreographer for praise dance routines, teaching computer literacy, and designing screen-printed tee-shirts. 

Venita memories will be cherished by her mother, Janell Jordan (Walter) of Crossett, AR; father, Eric Dawson of Dover, Delaware; son, Brian Miles Jr. of Crossett, AR; daughter, Jania Miles, of Crossett, AR; sister, Aisha Martin of Crossett, AR; brother, Kevin Dawson; of Crossett, AR; nieces, Kierra and Kaliylah Martin; both of Crossett, AR and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Crossett, AR.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 from 2 to 6 at the chapel of Mitchell Memorial.

Burial will follow at the Westview Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR
