Velma Lee Fike

Velma Lee Ward Fike was born in Lapile, AR to the late Tommy Lee and Gladys Ward. She confessed her faith at an early age at Ward Chapel C.M.E. Church. She attended school at Gardner High School. She was joined in matrimony to the late Billy Fike for many years and later she joined Shiloh Baptist Church, Strong, AR. and then became a member of Living Word Ministries until her transition. She was employed and retired from Prescolite, El Dorado, AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; son- Charles Fike; her two sisters- Mary Clark and Flora Ward; her three brothers-Willie Ward, Wallace Ward and Thomas Ward;
Grandson-Dion Rochel; two nephews, Daryl Ford and Thomas Ward, Jr.; A special friend Sis. Lou Ella Benton.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Tunja Coleman (Bryan), Strong, AR and two sons, Carlos Ellison (Karen)-Northridge, CA and Marcus Fike (Jennifer)-Strong, AR. Her children were the apple of her eye, and she made many sacrifices to raise and nurture her children. One Brother-Charles Ward (Mary)-Gary, IN; One sister, Rena Ward, Dallas,TX.;(Nine grandchildren)
Cordell Cook, Jennifer Fike, Victoria Fikes, Cameron Ellison, Jordan Ellison, Jalante Coleman, Jamarcus Fike, Tikyah Wilson, and Mariah Ziegler; Seven great-grandchildren and a special
neighbor, Deborah Hicks and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Velma and the late Billy Fike was a blended family. Also cherishing her memories are 2
daughters; Billie J. Green and Betty J. Fike and one son Alex Fike all of Los Angeles, CA

Funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Strong, AR.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022, from 5 to 7 at the Shiloh Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in the Ward Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR.
