Velma Denise Brock

Velma Denise Brock was born September 9, 1968, to Willie Fred and Mary Ann (Jamison) Brock. She was a lifelong resident of Fountain Hill. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with Westside Christ of Christ under the leadership of Bro. Nathaniel Kidd. 
Velma is the mother of a daughter Alicia who was the joy of her life and the apple of her eye. She was a 1986 graduate of Fountain Hill School Systems, after graduation, she attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello where she received a bachelor's degree in business administration. She didn't stop there. She also obtained her certification in Early Childhood Education; she obtained her Childhood Development Association in Preschool. She worked in Education for 33 years for Southeast Arkansas Community Action, CDI, and Save the Children. Velma has shaped a lot of little minds 

Velma's life journey ended on December 6, 2024, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her Grandparents: OC and Viola (Cason) Brock, Ervin and Isabella (Franklin) Jamison. 

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: Daughter Alicia Brown of Little Rock, AR Parents Willie F. and Mary A. Brock of Fountain Hill, AR Two Brothers: Ryan Jones (Cortina) of McKinley, TX, Willie L. Brock of Little Rock, Three Sisters: Thelma Guy of Killeen TX, Mendy Thomas-Gardner (Jermaine) of Monticello, AR Ashley Jackson of Fountain Hill, AR Five Nieces: McKinly Harris, of Monticello, AR Sadie Jones, Amaria Jones both of McKinley, TX, Jordyn Jackson, Amelia Lambert both of Fountain Hill, AR. Four Nephews: Aisyn Gardner, Axavier Gardner of Monticello, AR, Jesse Jones, Malik Jones of McKinley, TX, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other family.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the Westside Church of Christ in Fountain Hill, AR.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Westside Church of Christ from 4:00 until 6:00.

Burial will follow in the Norris Hill Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, Arkansas.
