Vanessa Ann Washington Elliott was born September 3, 1959, in Strong, AR to Eddie Lee and Maudra Mae Washington.
She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age, attending SpringHill Baptist Church. She later attended Beulah Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Luther Harris until her health failed her. She attended school in Strong, AR at Gardner High School. She later moved to Houston, TX, and married her high school sweetheart, James C Elliott, and in the course of time, their marriage was resolved. Vanessa later graduated from the class of 1977 at Kashmere High School in Houston, TX.
She worked for General Motors for 28 years. She later moved to Fort Worth. TX with her job, and later had twin girls. She returned back to her Roots to be with her loving mother until her passing. Vanessa was preceded in death by her parents: Eddie Lee and Maudra Mae Washington and one uncle: John Henry
Her loving memory will be cherished by one son: Terrence Q. Elliott (Crystal) of Houston, TX; Three daughters: LaCretta Elliott (Brandon) of El Dorado, AR, Michaela White and Makeeya White both of Dallas, TX; 7 grandsons: DaQuan, Dontariel, Dominick, Devon, Deshun, Keenon Brook; one great-grandchild I’Laina; Three brothers: Eddie C. Washington of Jackson, MS, Johnny R. Washington of Strong, AR, Lonnie L Washington of El Dorado, AR; two sisters: Virginia Wright of Houston, TX and Tammy R. Washington (James) of Richmond, CA; two uncles: RD Henry and Carvin Henry of Strong, AR, a host of nephew, nieces, relatives, and friends who will miss her tremendously.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 19, 2020, at the Ward Chapel Cemetery in Strong, AR.
A viewing will be from 11 until 7 at the chapel on Friday, September 18, 2020, under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service in Crossett, AR.
