Sister Thelma Marie Carter was born on May 25, 1958, in Lacey, AR to the late Leon Carter and LV Bradley. She was one of ten children. She was a resident of El Dorado, AR for 17 years. On Monday, May 6, 2024, God called Thelma from her earthly home. She was preceded in death by one son: Calvin Lamont Canley
and great grandson: Kalvin Chavis, Jr.
Thelma was a fun, loving person who loved everyone. She was family oriented, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved her family dearly. She was the one sibling who made weekly calls to everyone. She loved her pets and had a beyond average green thumb. She can grow anything. She was hilarious if you needed a laugh and she loved doing for
others. Thelma was a member of the New East side Baptist Church in El Dorado, AR under the leadership of Pastor Anthony Taylor. She worked as a housekeeper at Warner Brown Hospital. Thelma love will be truly missed.
She leaves to cherish her memories, three children: Yketta Grayson-Powell, Harold Lewis, Jr., and Marcel Harris; five sisters: Willie Jean Brown, Freddie Cowains, Martha Carter, Linda Carter Hammond(Derrick), and Mary Ann Carter; four brothers: Willie Ed Carter, Leroy Carter, Murlee Carter(Vastine), and Charles Carter: best friend/sister Nadine, Frost, and a long partner, Michael
Honeycutt, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends. A special niece Chiauna McMurrian
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 from 4 until 7 at the Chapel of Mitchell Memorial.
Burial will follow in the Ryles Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR.
