Snowsie Terry Obituary

Snowsie "Mama Snowsie" Terry of Eudora, AR was born on November 20, 1922, in Chicot County, AR to the late Tom Williams and Hattie Morris. She was raised by her grandmother Sissy (Julia Guster). She departed this life on Friday, February 14, 2020 at her home.

Snowsie was baptized at an early age and became a member of Zion Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of E. D. Handie, Sr. She served in the Finance Department and part of the singing choir for a few years. She was a faithful member until her health failed. 

Snowsie met and married Leon Johnson as a young woman. To this union, four children were born. She later met and married Leroy Terry and to this union, eight children were born. 

Snowsie worked in the Eudora Public School System as a cafeteria cook for over 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandmother, four siblings and four children, Vicki Lusk, Robert Terry, Catherine Mckinney, and Eloise Harris.

She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter: Odessa Johnson of Chicago, IL; seven sons: Harold Johnson (Linda) of Denver, CO, Otis Williams of Miami, FL, Cleo Terry, Michael Terry (Carolyn), Reginald Terry, Avery Terry,  and Leroy Terry, Jr. (Raven) all of Eudora, AR; Three grandchildren that she raised: Avery Terry, II of Eudora, AR, Yonica Terry of Dallas, TX and Wayne Walker of Sacramento, CA; Two sisters: Rosie Earl and Betty Joe Kincade both of Eudora, AR and one brother: Eddie Dean Williams of Eudora, AR; one daughter in law: Jessie Bea Terry, thirty-nine grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at the Zion Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Eudora, AR

Burial will follow in the Hill Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR.
