Monroe David Christian

Monroe D. Christian, 67, of Strong, Arkansas passed away quietly at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, AR on May 7, 2019. He attended the public schools of Strong, Ark and graduated from Strong High School in 1970. Shortly thereafter, he began to work at Georgia Pacific in Crossett, AR and retired after 42 years of service. He enjoyed working on cars and helping anyone when he was able. He dedicated his life to Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Church of God. 

Monroe D. Christian is preceded in death by his parents, Asa Miner and Ella Mae (Benton) Christian and two siblings Charles and Gloria Dean Christian.

Monroe Christian is survived by his children, Cassondra (Eric) Hardy, Tyrone Christian, both of Houston, TX, Talesha Christian of Kansas City, MO, Jetavon Christian of Bloomington, IN, and Roemon Christian of Crossett, AR, sisters, Ruth Abram of Shreveport, LA, Lena (Larry) Meadows of Sugarland, TX, Mary Thomas of Hyattsville, MD, Dr. Esther (Charles) Sellars of Martin, TN, Deanie Christian of Houston, TX, Amy Christian of Bowie, MD, brothers, Willie (Janice) Christian of England, AR, Waymon (Anissa) Christian of Memphis, TN, John Asa (Helene) Christian and Amos Christian both of Strong, AR; a host of devoted aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday,  May 11, 2019, at the Curry Chapel AME Church in Strong, AR.

Visitation will be held from 2 until 7 Friday, May 10, 2019, at the chapel and 10 until service time Saturday at the church.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Strong, AR under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR.
