Deacon Micheal “Mike” Ray Miles was born May 30, 1957, in Eldorado, AR, to the late Dorothy Jean Miles.
Deacon Micheal Miles began his Christian journey at an early age, attending Philippians Church of God in Christ with his grandmother, the late Sister Mary Miles.
He was a graduate of Huttig High School. After high school, Mike was employed by Hardaway Construction. Later, he joined the United States Army and served from 1980 to 1993. He was stationed in Ft. McClellan (Alabama), Kaiserslautern (Germany), Ft. Stewart (Georgia), Ft. Riley (Kansas), Weierhof (Germany), and Mannheim (Germany). After being honorably discharged from the Army, Mike returned home and held positions at various companies.
He united with Starlight COGIC, under the leadership of Elder Raymond Foreman. He later returned to his home church, Philippians COGIC, under the leadership of the late Superintendent H.J. Easter and continued his service under the leadership of Elder Emmitt (Tony) Cole, where he remained a faithful servant until his transition. There he served as Financial Officer and Sunday School Superintendent. Mike also found joy in spending time with the elderly members
of the community.
On June 4th, 1977, Micheal was united in holy matrimony to Sandra Foreman. To this union four daughters were born. On July 20, 2025, God saw fit to call Micheal to his eternal home. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Mary Miles, his mother, Dorothy Jean Miles, one brother, Brice Clark, one maternal aunt, Nora Easter and three maternal
uncles, Billy Miles, Willie Miles, and Terry Miles.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife of 48 years, Sandra Miles, four daughters: LaToria Williams (Gentry) of Eldorado, AR, Marshae Miles-Best of Las Vegas, NV, Denise Rouse (Jeremy) of Killeen, TX, and Tyesha McMurrian of Las Vegas, NV, six grandchildren: LaDeja, Raylen, Kilah, Dominic, Gentry III and Miles, two great-grandchildren: Jessiah and Juelz, two sisters: Sharon Manning (Dale) of Marion, LA, and Kathy Lacy of Austin, TX, one aunt: Shirley Ann Miles-Hooker of East Moline, IL, two special brothers-in-law: Raymond Foreman (Cora) of
Shreveport, LA and Earnest Lee Foreman (Earlean) of California, his childhood friend, Lester Boyette, his Westwood School family, a special puppy: Coco, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 AM on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the St. Andrews AME Church in Huttig, AR.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM on Friday, August 1, 2025, at the chapel of Mitchell Memorial.
Burial will follow in the Batts Chapel Cemetery in Huttig, AR under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR.
