Sis. Mary Louise Johnson was born on June 17, 1935, in Huttig, AR to the late Willie Mae Johnson-Bradley and Alfred Meekins. She accepted Christ in 1973 at a tent revival under Bishop R. E. Matheney and was a lifelong member of Davis Memorial Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Bishop R.E. Matheney, Elder Roy E. Matheney Jr, and Bishop Robert G. Rudolph. She served on the usher board for many years.
She was married to Jack Johnson who preceded her in death. She loved going to church and watching her two favorite television shows, Sandford and Son and Good Times. She was a very loving and understanding mother and grandmother with a very big heart and an infectious laugh that made everyone around her happy.
On September 19, 2020, she left her earthly home to go to her heavenly home. She passed away at Cornerstone Hospital in West Monroe, La. She was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Glover, one brother, Roy Tolliver, and one son, James Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories: three sons, Eugene(Katie)Johnson, of Crossett AR, Joe Willie(Barbara) Johnson of Irving TX, Edmond(Rochelle) Johnson of Henderson, NV, and one daughter, Denise Gilbert of Crossett AR. Two sisters, Anna Givins of Denver, Co, Mevalene Bradley of Milwaukee, WI, Two brothers, Elvis Bradley Jr of Milwaukee, WI, Thomas Bradley of Crossett Ar. She had 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, Two special daughters, Betty Jones and Angela Carter, Two special sons, Freddy Norwood and Brandon Ballard, a special sister: Alma Brewer, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at the Westview Cemetery in Crossett, AR.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020, from 11 until 7 at the chapel under the direction of Mitchell Memorial of Crossett, AR.
