Lee Porter Obituary

         Lee Charles Porter was born in Parkdale, Arkansas on Feburay 19,1952 to the proud parents of Addie Bell and Eddie Porter. He received his education a Reed’s Elementary School and continue his education at Lakeside High School in Lake village, Arkansas.

          At the age 18 years old, Lee Charles move to Los Angeles, CA with his sister Alberta. One of the memories Lee Charles shared was how he was going to leave Montrose, Arkansas and move to Los Angeles and become rich. He partnered with Nelson Chem-Dry Cleaning Service for twenty-five years. Lee Charles had a plan and that was to fulfill his dreams.           Lee Charles was a carpenter by trade, when he moved to Los Angeles, he met the love of his life, Jeanette Jones. Lee Charles and Jeanette traveled to Arkansas so she could meet the family. A year later they had a baby girl “Yolanda” in 1972 and 1973 they had another daughter “Linda”. Lee Charles and his family lived together in Los Angeles in the “Jungles” until 1993. Within that time period, he took over the carpet cleaning company and changed the name to “LEE Way Carpet Cleaning Service”. Lee Charles cleaned carpet for many celebrities such as D.L Hughley and his dreams became a reality.

       Lee Charles had his family working by his side. His family began to grow with his first two grandchildren’s and later on he gained a son-In Law who became his son / best friend. Lee Charles and his son in-law Andre use to sit around and drink coffee and when they got tired of doing that, they would ride the streets of Los Angeles together.   

        After 68 years, and 10 months, the Lord called Lee Charles home for his much-deserved eternal rest on December 19, 2020. His mother “Addie”, father “Eddie”, six sisters and five brothers preceded him in death- Alonzo, Alberta, Eddie Jr., lil Alonzo, Dora, Gracie, Mary Hellen, Larry, Lena Mae, Richard and Kathy Marie.

         Lee Charles loved his life and he lived the life he loved. He leaves to cherish his memories.Two Daughters: Yolanda Porter and Linda Porter; One Son-Law: Andre Lawson; Six Grandchildren’s: Jerome, LaNeisha, Jerrell, Khyree, Aljabari, Andre Jr. and AnDreana; Six Great-Grandchildren’s: LaRiah, Jayce, Jerrell jr, Samaiya, Jailin and Nehemiah.

Graveside service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 9, 2020, at the Montrose Cemetery in Montrose AR.2020 under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR.
