Lawrence Green

Lawrence Green was born on August 25, 1943, in Montgomery Point, AR to the late Joe green, Sr. and Ether Green. He later moved to Star City and then to Crossett where he graduated from T. W. Daniel High School with the class of 1962. He then attended Shorter College in North Little Rock, AR. After college, he moved to Detroit MI where he lived until his death. Lawrence was of the Baptist Faith.

Lawrence spent his days working for the Chrysler Corporation until retirement. He then started doing lawn care and landscaping. He often talked about the many clients he had and how he had to turn some away so he didn’t overwork himself. He took pride in making yards beautiful. He also had to take time to take care of his home and rental properties. He was always busy. Twice per year for 3 weeks, he would come to Crossett to visit his parents before they passed away and the rest of his family members. That’s when he took the time to showcase his other talents, building houses, fishing, hunting, cooking out, eating, and having fun with his folks. Before he left to go back home, he always had to do his signature dance which got a huge laugh from all his relatives. He was full of life. He also enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. He will truly be missed.

 Lawrence passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at the Hartford's Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Detroit, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ether Green, one sister, Onnie Russ, three brothers, Joe Green, Jr., Russell Green, and infant brother Jessie Green.
Lawrence is survived by his four children Chameer Knott, of Detroit MI, Kris Paterson, Louisville KY, Andreanna Green, and Lawrence Green Jr., of Detroit MI; four granddaughters, and one great-granddaughter; four sisters; Viola Rochelle, Star City, AR, Ethel Hatch (Clarence) Stuttgart, AR, Lillian Gibson, Birthola Webb (Elbert) of Crossett, AR, two brothers; James Green, Milwaukee WI, Willie Green,(Fontella) Crossett, AR, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousin.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the Westview Cemetery in Crossett, AR.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 11:00 until 7:00 at the chapel of Mitchell Memorial. 

Burial will follow in the Westview Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR.
