Carolina Ybarra Edwards went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 22, 2024, after a brave battle with life. She was 81 years old.
Carol was born in National City, California on June 13, 1943, to Francesca Poblano and Enrique Ybarra. She spent most of her life living in Chula Vista, California until she moved to Crossett, Arkansas in 2017 to be with her son.
She loved Jesus with all her heart and considered herself married to God since the late 1980s and was an animal lover with a soft spot for cats. Her belief was that there was nothing that a cup of hot tea, a good book, or a bowl of soup couldn’t fix. She loved learning about different cultures and YouTube became her window to the world when she became unable to travel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Edward, Fidel, and Henry Ybarra; her sisters, Aurora, Victoria, and Josie; her son, Charles (Charley) Edwards; her granddaughter Nova Edwards, who never made it earthside; and her favorite cat, Bunny, along with other beloved loved ones with whom she is now reunited.
Carol leaves behind her son, Alexander Edwards of Crossett, AR; her sister, Lydia Ybarra Leduc of Mesquite, NV, her niece Vickie Reynoso of Sacramento, CA; niece Quirina Banda and great niece Esperanza Banda of Indiana; niece Sasha of Santa Ysabel, CA; and numerous friends, relatives, and animals who love her and will miss her tremendously.
Many thanks to Hospice Home Care of Monticello, AR for ensuring that her transition was a peaceful one; her aide, Isabella, for making her last days comfortable; and a special thanks to Zee for brightening up her life. You are all a blessing!
There will be no service at her request. She will be cremated and her ashes will be distributed per her wishes to be with her son, Charley, and at Window Rock, in Arizona on the Navajo reservation.
Cremation arrangement under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR
