Carmen Johnson of Crossett, AR departed this life on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 in Monticello, AR
Carmen R. (Spencer) Johnson was born September 29, 1952 to the parentage of C.W. and Mahala Spencer in Crossett, AR. Carmen attended T. W. Daniels HS, and after graduation she was briefly married and had 2 children from that marriage, Cassandra Brown and Neil Johnson. Carmen was the youngest of her two other siblings, Talfurian Spencer and Marquita Adkins who preceded her in death along with her parents.
Carmen loved the Lord, garage sales, being frugal, going to church when able and reading her bible (King James version). Carmen has 7 grandchildren: Treyton Johnson, Todd Brown Jr., Adrian Johnson, Jala Johnson, Cameron Tatum, Kalyssa Johnson and Chloe Johnson and 2 great grandchildren, Bryce Johnson and Kyrie Johnson. Carmen is also the aunt and great-aunt to a host of nieces and nephews. Carmen decided on a career in the food service industry early in life with the Crossett Public School system where she worked until she retired in_ - During her younger years, Carmen liked to travel and take photographs during those trips via the Greyhound bus line. Her snack of choice was Butterfinger candy bars whether full size or minis and maraschino Chocolate-covered cherries. Carmen departed this life on February 4, 2025, and is survived by all the previously mentioned children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. One of the fondest memories we have with our mother is playing the old maid card game with her as children. One of Carmen's most beloved bible scriptures is Psalms chapter 91(a scripture of protection). May she rest in peace.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the chapel of Mitchell Memorial.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 on Thursday, February 13, 2026 at the chapel.
Burial will follow in the Westview Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR
