Bettye Marie Davis was born on August 18, 1934, to Clinton and Estella Wines in Farmerville, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother: Clint Wines Jr., Grady Simmons, Clara Collins, Frankie Daniels, and Pearl Ross and a grandson Anthony Davis.
Bettye graduated from Union Parish training School in Farmerville, LA in 1954. She was married to the late AD Davis for over 35 years. From that, they were blessed with three children. Betty retired from Ashley Memorial Hospital after many years of service. After retirement, she continued to work as a c Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) with Area Agency on Aging. She also worked for Kidd Cleaning Service and her love for children brought her to become a foster grandparent with the Crossett School District for many years until her health failed.
Bettye was a faithful and dedicated servant of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church until her death. There she served in many ministries. Her favorite was serving with the Usher Ministry.
Bettye leaves to cherish her memory; Three children: Beverlyn Fenceroy (Henry); Alfred Davis (all of Crossett, AR); Donna Hammock (Rev. Karal) all of Crossett, AR; seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Westview Cemetery, in Crossett, AR.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at the chapel under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR.
