Apostle Willie Mae Goodwin was born on July 13, 1939, to the late L. C. Essex and Letha Aldridge in Parkdale, AR. She departed in Little Rock, AR on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
Apostle Goodwin loved going to church on Sunday and bible study on Wednesday. She would study her lesson all week. She was looking up words or even calling Joyce to look up the ones she could not find. The love of God is what brought her joy. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School. She was the Sunday School Superintendent at her church. She loved listening to church music while driving and even riding with someone else. She enjoyed eating fish and okra, especially at her small birthday parties at Joyce's house. She loved opening her gifts especially when money was falling out of the cards. When she opened her gifts, she never tore up the wrapping. She enjoyed calling us on our birthdays. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all her family. She loved being a pastor. She pastored several churches near and far. Being a mom and a minister was the highlight of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents: L. C. Essex and Letha Aldridge; 4 brothers: L.C (Bubble) Williams, Herman Williams, Lawrence Williams and Henry Williams and one sister Moszell Dortch
