A Time to Be Born
Troy Allen Lovett was born on July 29, 1951 to Hosea and Hazel Lovett in Strong, Arkansas. He was the fourth born child and the first son.
A Time to Change
Troy accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church at an early age.
A Time to Work and Serve
Throughout his life he demonstrated a strong work ethic. Beginning at the age of 15, he took on the responsibility of working to provide for his family after his father suffered a serious back injury and needed surgery that left him disabled. He took on this burden in addition to continuing his education. He graduated from Gardner High School in 1969. After graduating from high school he served his country as a member of the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Upon returning home from his military service, Troy began working at Georgia Pacific at the plywood plant. He worked there until he retired in 2008.
A Time to Love
Troy met the love of his life Ruby “Nette” Jackson. The two united in holy matrimony on October 12, 1974. In Nette, Troy found a devoted and attentive wife who embraced his family like her own. To this union a son was born, Kenneth LaTroy Lovett. During their nearly five decades together, they shared not only laughter and joy but weathered many storms. Nette provided Troy love and support through it all.
A Time to Live
Troy was a fiercely devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He had a generous heart and was always willing to do whatever he could to take care of those he loved. He appreciated the value of life and the time we are given on this earth and always was careful to let those around him know that he loved and cared for them.
In addition to spending time with family and friends he enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. Troy also loved playing dominoes.
A Time to Mourn
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Katherine, and a brother Andrew Wayne Lovett, Sr.
