Sylvester Tucker

Sylvester Tucker 67 was born to the late Eugene and Laura Tucker in Crossett, AR. On February 6, 2019 the angels of heaven called him home at the Ashley County Medical Center.

Sylvester was a lifetime resident of Crossett, AR. He was a custodian at Crossett Scholl District where he retired in June of 2018.He had also worked at Chase Bag until he moved. He served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Living Word COGIC, where served as a Deacon.

Sylvester was a devoted husband and father. He married Linda Hendrix on May 1, 1981 and the two was made completely one. Sylvester enjoyed going to church, football, basketball, road trips and working around the house. He enjoyed sitting around telling jokes and laughing.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Eugene and Laura Tucker; two daughters: Latonya Tucker and June Tucker and one brother Calvin Tucker.

HE LEAVES TO CHERISH: His wife of 47 years: Linda Tucker of Crossett, AR; 8 children: Angela (Anthony) Warren of Waukegan, IL, Basil (Wilma) Hendrix of Arlington, TX, Capresha Hampton of Crossett, AR, David (Taffany) Hampton of Crossett, AR, Ashley (Deroderick) Hobbs of Bastrop, LA, Quintisha (JaCario) Whaley of Crossett, AR, Marshata Tucker of Crossett, AR, Chelsa Tyson of Crossett, AR; 9 Siblings: Rosie Turner, Viola Shields, Jimmy Tucker, Raymond (Shirley) Tucker and Marion (Julia) Tucker all of Seattle, WA; Clifton (Posic) Tucker of Mesquite, TX, Eli (Darlene) Tucker of Osceola, AR, Curtis (Louise) Tucker and Marie Martin of Crossett, AR. 10 grandchildren: Danesha Smith of Crossett, AR, Alecia Licon of Norfolk, VA, Fredreunna Scott of Crossett, AR, Anthony Warren, Jr. of Waukegan, IL, Cameron Whaley and Cae’Lynn Whaley of Crossett, AR, Kiara Hobbs and RyLynn Hobbs of Bastrop, LA, Cassidy Brown of Crossett, AR and Andrina Caldwell of Little Rock, AR. Great-Grandchildren: Jaicey Wilson of Crossett, AR, and also a host of nieces, nephews and loved ones.

Funeral service will be held at the Living Word Church of God in Christ at 11:00 AM on February 15, 2019.

Visitation will be held at the chapel of Mitchell Memorial from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 14, 2019.

Burial will follow in the Ryles Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR.
