Micheal Anthony Girtmon, 61 of Bastrop Louisiana passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop, LA. He was born on July 23,1957 to the late Fletcher Bentley and Aristean Girtmon Bentley-Field in Monroe, LA. He was preceded in death by his son: Aries Girtmon, one brother: Jerry Croxton and one uncle: Charles Girtmon “Booby”.
Throughout his life he was employed with many companies, but his most passionate job was being a mechanic, logging and most of all cooking. Micheal was known as “Roadrunner” and “G” and he loved his family especially being with his grandchildren in the backyard. Another passion he had was fishing and he was a man of many words.
Micheal met Patricia Williams over 27 years ago. After 14 years together the two became one. On June 4, 2005 Micheal Anthony Girtmon married the love of his life, Mrs. Patricia Williams-Girtmon and they remained together until God called his home.
He leaves to cherish his memories His loving wife of 13 years: Patricia Williams Girtmon of Bastrop, LA; four daughters: Lateisha Washington (Derrell) of Lewisville, TX, Lashanna Girtmon of Crossett, AR, LaToya Holmes (Kendrick) of Monticello, AR and Tierra Jones of Las Vegas, NV; Five grandchildren: Keonna Potter, De’Kearuna Washington, Kensley Jade Bess, Nala and Kylie Holmes; one Great-granddaughter A’Nyla Daniels; one brother: Fletcher Bentley (Marissa) of Port Arthur, TX; Five Sisters: Sharon Girtmon-Ards (Tommy) of Lancaster, TX, Vetress Girtmon Rose (Willie) of Bastrop, LA, Tonya Tatum (Felton) of Crossett, AR, Lori Martin of Humble, TX and Dawn Gaines of Mesquite, TX. Two Step daughters: Linda White and Paula Winzer both of Bastrop, LA, his father-in-law James E. Williams and mother-in-law Bernice Hendrix-Williams, three good friends: Robert Livingston, Sherman Burrell and Jimmy Smith and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at theNew Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Bastrop, LA.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 at the church Friday, August 24, 2018.
Burial will follow in the Jerusalem Cemetery in Mer-Rouge, LA under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR.
