Mary Lee Hendrix was born on February 8, 1934 to the late Horace and Alice Williams. She was married to the late Robert Hendrix. Mary departed this life on April 7, 2019 at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett, AR.
Mary was a member of Kingdom Builders Outreach Ministries Church for several years. Mary enjoyed praising the Lord. Her Vision In Life was “To Keep the Faith Through Christ Jesus”.
Mary was a hard worker, who cared for her twelve lovely children. She also had a special care for helping raise the Wimberly children, which is another beautiful family that was a part of her life. Evidence showed that Mary enjoys spending time with her children, as well as, her grand and great-grandchildren. Nevertheless, it is a fact that she truly had a love for all children. She was an independent individual, who loved cooking, cleaning, and dancing in her own way.
Mary will always be remembered by greeting people with a beautiful smile showing her pearly white teeth from a loving person. She will often say that “I am doing Good by the Grace of the Good Lord.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Hendrix, three daughters: Dorothy Hendrix, Wanda Hendrix, Corean Hendrix and one son: Arthur Hendrix; her parents: Horace and Alice Williams. Grandchildren: Latrice Simpson, La Tonya Tucker, June Tucker, and Basil Hendrix. Great-grandchild: Dominick Boyd, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters: Robbie Hendrix, Linda Tucker, and Brenda Hendrix; all of Crossett, AR; five sons: Timmy Hendrix, Freddie Hendrix of Crossett, AR, Bruce Hendrix(Joreka) of Bastrop, LA, Melvin Hendrix and Winston Hendrix(Tamaca) of Arlington, TX; brother-in-laws: Howard Hendrix and Lonnie Hendrix(Alma) of Chicago, IL; also a host of uncle, aunt, nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws, cousins, family, and beautiful friends
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 12, 2019, at Gates Chapel AME Church in Crossett, AR.
Visitation will be held Thurs, April 11, 2019, from 11 until 7 at the chapel.
Burial will follow in the Pugh Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR
