Lovie Miller Obituary

Miss Lovie Lee Miller 77 was born April 29, 1941, in Strong AR to the late Sammie Lee Miller and the late Mollie Mae Henry Miller. God dispatched an angel to call her home at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett AR on Sunday morning, September 23, 2018.

Lovie Lee Miller was known as “Goat” in a small town and community of Strong, AR. She also received her education in the Strong School System.

As a young child, Ms. Miller and her family were members of the Springhill Missionary Baptist Church in Oakland LA. She loved attending every 3rd Sunday in August Homecoming at her family church. This was when the younger and older relatives, friends and families came together with a good old-fashioned celebration. There was good food, friends, family and fellowship. Growing up in this small town, jobs were few. Ms. Miller decided to move to the ‘BIG TOWN” of Crossett AR in her young adult years. she had more family there. Being a single mother with 4 small children, during those times was very hard. She made sure that her children were taken care of with the help from others loving and caring family members. She later had five more children. She strived to do the best she could for her children during those hard times. Ms. Lovie became a member of Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church in Crossett AR under the leadership of the late Rev. Porter Jasper upon the confession of Christian experience. She attended church services until her health started failing her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Sammie Lee Miller and Mollie Mae Henry Miller Three Sisters Murphy Jean Giles, Emma Jean Lloyd and Tressie Ward.

She leaves to cherish her memories: six Sons: Otis Wimberly of Los Angeles, CA, Matthew Wimberly of Los Angeles, CA/Crossett, AR, Cedrick Black of Crossett, AR, Dennis Black of Crossett, AR, Manuel Black of Crossett, AR and Danny Bouie(Annette) of Waldorf, MD; Three daughters: Tommy Jean Brown, Theresa Williams of Crossett, AR and Vikki Black of Monroe, LA.; Three sisters: Sherrie Jackson of Monroe, LA, Alice Shephard of Eldorado, AR and Mabalean Green of Eldorado, AR; One Brother: Billy Ray Miller of Bastrop, LA; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; Honorable son and daughter: Kenneth "Peanut Robinson and Lorraine "Pee-Wee" Hicks; Longtime Friends: Ms. Claudell Goree, Ms. Eula Jamerson, Ms. Juanita Jamerson, Mittie Hawkins, Patricia Lindsey, Annie Bell Gibbs, Calon Caldwell, Linda Sue Jacob and Sherry King. “These women always went above and beyond measures, whether it was just a meal, a ride, conversation, laughter or just a ball of fun.
