Linda Ruth Burks-Holyfield was born on March 13, 1953, to John and Rebecca Wimberly-Burks in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was the second of five children. She accepted Christ at an early age at Hunters Chapel Baptist Church in West Crossett, AR. She left her earthly home into eternal rest on Thursday, December 26, 2019, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett, AR.
Linda was raised in Crossett, AR then moved to Dallas, TX from 1965 until 1967 after which she returned to Crossett. She was an employee of the Georgia Pacific Plywood Plant in Crossett and retired after 33 years of service.
Linda enjoyed taking pictures and being in the presence of family and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Jefferson Holyfield, Sr, her parents: John and Rebecca Burks, two brothers: Donnie and Johnathon Burks, Two sons: Curtis Hillard and Daryl Ford. One grandson: Anthony Davis and one niece: Felicia Burks.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, Three sons: Larry (Katina) Federson of Las Vegas, NV, Jefferson (Natalie) Holyfield, Jr., and Derrick Burks both of Crossett, AR. Six daughter: Glenda (Bruce)Elliott of Clarksdale, MS, Julia (Andrew) Downs of Wilmar, AR, Brenda (Kenny) Burns of Crossett, AR, Betty Holyfield of Haynesville, LA, Consettia (Duffie) Moore of Bastrop, LA, and Linda Faye Holyfield of Crossett, AR; Three Sisters: Barbara B. (Early) Edwards Elsie B. (J.W.) Robinson and Netra (Cardell) Edwards all of Crossett, AR. She also leaves eighteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 3, 2020, at the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Crossett, AR.
Visitation will be held from 1pm to 7pm at the chapel on Thursday, January 2, 2020.
Burial will follow in the Quinn Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service in Crossett, AR
