John Fitzgerald Hopes

John Fitzgerald Hopes was born February 12, 1964. He was born to the union of Ruby and John L. Hopes. He attended and graduated from San Lorenzo High School in 1982. John had acquired an early start in construction and continued to work in that field for years. John enjoyed restoring electronic games, playing golf, football and basketball, where the Golden State Warriors and Oakland Raiders were his favorite teams.

After many years in California, John moved to Arkansas. While in Arkansas he was a deacon at Holly Springs Church and later attended New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. A few years later John return to California where he began to care for his grandmother until his passing.

John departed from this dear life on Saturday, May 12, 2018 in Oakland, California. He was preceded in death by his father: John Lewis Hopes, his paternal grandfather: Nehemiah Hopes, his maternal grandparents: Laura and Clarence Johnson.

With his passing he leaves to cherish his memories to his mother: Ruby Hopes, two son: Jamir and Jameechi Hopes( Mary-Mother), four brothers: Demetrius Baker and Devins Baker both of California, Kyron Norman of Arkansas and Byron Hopes of California Three Sisters Kesha Campbell of Arkansas Yolanda Conaway and Tanya Hopes both of California and his grandmother Icie Lee Spencer (Granny-Gran) also from Oakland California along with a host of relative, friends, and coworkers.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Crossett, AR.

Visitation will be held from 11 until 7 on Friday March 25, 2018 at the chapel of Mitchell Memorial.

Burial will follow in the Westview Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR.
