Edgar Henry Dupree

Edgar Henry Dupree was born August 2, 1921 to the union of Sam Dupree, and Elnora (nee Henry) Dupree in New Edinburg, AR. He departed this life here on earth on Monday, January 29, 2018 at his home, surrounded by those that loved him.

Edgar received his elementary and secondary education at Thebes Elementary and High School in Thebes, AR. Edgar moved to Marion, AR where he met Lillie Mae Dupree. They united in holy matrimony for 57 years until Lillie Mae had preceded him in death. Edgar served in the United States Army and was a World War 2 veteran. He was self-employed and loved to fish and work in his yard and shed. He was a wonderful storyteller and enjoyed singing and spending time with his family and friends. Edgar was a devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Lillie Mae Dupree; his parents: Sam and Elnora Dupree; Four Sisters: Augusta Thomas, Gladys Anderson, Grace Lewis and Bessie Cobin; Three Brothers: Clarence N. Dupree, Paul O. Dupree and Sam Dupree, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Five sons: Johnny Dupree wife Cathy, Randy Dupree and Carl Dupree wife Bernester all of Crossett, AR; Robert Dupree wife April and Edgar Dupree, Jr wife Brenda both of Little Rock, AR; Four daughters: Patricia Ann Jenkins husband Larry of Las Vegas, NV, Ann Hayes husband Alvin, Linda Dupree and Gloria Hayes all of Crossett, AR.  He has one living sibling: Lena Mae Miller of Eudora, AR; 40 grandchildren 33 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Living Testament Church of Christ.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 2, 2018 from 11 until 7 at the chapel.

Burial will follow in the Westview Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR.
