Raymond Earl “Big Jim”Betters was born on September 29, 1953 to the late Ellen Ruth White Betters and Junior Harris Betters in Strong, AR
Mr. Betters attended Gardner High School in Strong, AR.

 Raymond enjoyed the outdoors which includes fishing, hunting and riding horses. He also enjoyed horse shows and having big cook-outs at his place.  At an early age he united with Ebenezer Baptist Church until he departed his life here on earth.  He was employed in the logging business as truck driver.

 On April 17, 2017 Raymond yielded up his spirit and closed this earthly scene at the St Vincent Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. He was preceded in death by his mother Ellen Ruth Betters and his father Junior Harris Betters and one brother Raymond Harris.

EIGHT SISTERS: Mary Betters, Fay (Rev. Aurell) Miller and Jessie Yarbrough of El Dorado, AR; Regina (George) Allen, Dorothy Polk, Judy (Jimmy) Mamun and Sherry Harris of Little Rock, AR, Clozell (Larry) Mathis of Oklahoma City, OK; SEVEN BROTHER: Bobby Betters and Keith Betters of El Dorado, AR, Ricky Harris of South Carolina, Pastor Ronnie Harris, Elder Darrell and Michael Harris of Winfield, and Johnny Harris of Pineapple, AL LA; TWO GOD BROTHER: Tracy (Pat) Leichmon of Strong, AR and Jimmy (Wanda) Leichmon of El Dorado, AR. He had a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. HE IS GONE, BUT HE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday April 22, 2017 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Strong, AR

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm at the chapel in Crossett, AR. Burial will follow at the Ebenezer Cemetery on the New London Rd in Strong, AR under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, AR. Repast will be at the Ebenezer Fellowship Hall in Strong, AR.
